WHAT HAPPENS HERE

WHAT HAPPENS HERE
My artwork and photography live under the umbrella of sleepless ink. Based in the county of Cornwall (U.K) I am fortunate to live and work by the sea and am involved with several creative pursuits. With decades of experience spraying graphics on surfboards while also pursuing my personal art, design and photography work, I have grown to work with only the best materials, with a view to produce final pieces or prints I am proud of.

If you have any questions feel free to get in touch.

ARTWORK

The artwork available is made up from my original pieces and related print runs.

The original work is born from a fascination with texture, collage, ink, paper and a sense of time and its affects. I make multilayered sheets, using various found printed paper or discarded papers and packaging – newspapers, old books, posters, etc. Sometimes a found book, magazine or poster is too valuable to tear or use so I scan and reprint onto Handmade Newsprint Paper. The final textured sheets are printed, drawn and painted onto with ink, paint and pencil.

Subject matter varies. Living by the sea and being involved with surfing and surfboards heavily influence my output, however, my interests are many and I enjoy minimum restrictions and am limited only by curiosity.

PHOTOGRAPHY

I love cameras, a magic box that with the click of a button can hold a second. A camera in hand helps the eyes slow down and look at things for longer – once caught and printed, forever. So much can be interesting with a twist of light, lean of shadow, quirk of angle or dash of movement. It happens everyday, anywhere, everywhere. The sea, surf and coastline are always worth looking at, with a camera it's possible to halt a moment of an ocean that never stops moving.

All photographs can go to print. They are professionally printed onto the finest Hahnemuhle German Etching Paper (310gsm), with Ultachrome inks on a 7 colour large format printer. They are available in one size and vary only in orientation – Portrait or Landscape.

Paper Sizes:
Landscape: W-47cm x H-37cm
Portrait: W-37cm x H-47cm
