QUICK SIDE BY SIDE

A visit to Corralejo is not complete without a walk to the end of the harbour to get a clear view of Lobos and Lanzarote beyond. The rendering on the concrete wall is chipping off and the blue paint on the wood railings is sun bleached, revealing the grain and telling the story of being exposed to the weather each day.

The town changes a little between each visit, but I hope the harbour wall doesn't. There is something about it that catches my eye every time.

NEWQUAY – PHOTOS

Looking on the bright side of winter approaching is... Hang on, I'm struggling to continue with this!

Let's start again.

Each season has its ups & downs, and between the depths of each season is a transitional period. It's reasonably established that there is a cyclical nature to this year in, year out. Long may the predictability last...it might suggest that we're - humans, that is - are not fucking with things too much – yea right!

Now in mid October Britain is clearly heading towards winter. It's still a couple of months away, but the shorter days and chillier mornings are signalling the approach. We know what's coming so adjustments are made – 3/2mm wetsuit to 4/3mm, shorts to longs, salad to soup!

As important, if not more important than clothing, wetsuit and diet changes, is mental preparation. Readjusting to more time indoors and finding positives within that.

So, back to the start:

Looking on the bright side of winter approaching is getting around to more desk bound enjoyments like drawing, creating and reviewing some of the year's photos. This afternoon it has been finding a few more from around Newquay this year.

CRIKEY! – iMOVIE SKILLS RECAP

It's been a while.

Kind of beige with my time accuracy there. 'A while' is smoke and mirrors for I can't even remember the last time I opened imovie...long enough to have forgotten how to use it!

A couple of quick YouTube tutorials and I'm back to being as mediocre as I was before. And I'm happy with that.

I can see its potential, but with a lengthy gap away from using it, I can also see how much time evaporates when sat in front of the computer. Something I've made a point of minimising this year.

I think less time working on the platforms to present my endeavours has allowed me more time to pursue them. Perhaps now with the days drawing in, I'll get closer to finding a balance...starting with mini imovie productions.

I'm still absorbed with drawing every a.m and have a growing amount of pen and pencil faces in numerous sketchbooks. Unwittingly, although now with a growing conscious, this movement could morph into a project.
