I am based in Newquay, Cornwall, and my creative pursuits live collectively under the name of Sleepless ink. Sleepless ink is an idea that aims to let flourish my love for art, photography, design and imaginative avenues.

COLLAGE, PRINT, PEN & BRUSH

For collage work I source text and images from old books, magazines, packaging etc, I then scan and print my findings using newsprint paper. Next I cut, tear and arrange the pieces to produce a collage to print, draw and paint onto.

GRAPHIC ILLUSTRATION

A combination of drawing and design work to create pieces for limited and unlimited print runs. The subject matter can vary but I frequently hone in on surfing, using a wealth of experience being a surfer, both in the water and in the surfboard (airbrush/graphics) industry. From working with surfboards and in graphic design I have gained techniques to create a process using drawing, painting and software skills to produce prints to go into frames and find walls.

PHOTOGRAPHY

I have my camera at all times and take photos for the enjoyment of the pursuit and to catch moments or a composition that can go to print, while also looking out for an image that can be used with my graphic illustration or collage work.

PRINT

When going to print, both my graphic illustration and photographs are Giclee prints using a natural white, coated fine art etching Paper. This wonderful paper is softly textured and produces gallery quality archival prints when coupled with the Canon LUCIA PRO ink system.
