It has been beneficial having a little structure when going out taking pictures – nothing major, just an idea of what I was hoping to shoot in the day.
Living in Newquay it was easy to create categories to do with living by the coast, all under the title 'Down by the Sea'. So if the surf is good the photos may end up in 'Surf & Surfboards', or photos of activity on the beach fall to the 'Beside the Seaside' category. The other sections being 'Seaside Town' and 'Harbour'.
But of course things are seen along the way, or when you least expect it, one never knows! That is what can be exciting about just ambling with a camera by your side.
Over time a small collection of photos gather that don't fall into a category. So the name of the new page is 'Just Because'.
Well, people just keep on wanting sprays on their new surfboards.
This board was specially made for Richard 'dodo' Dodd, who is making his way to Tenerife for a surf contest in late November. I think the contest is the 'Las Américas Pro Euromaster Open of Surfing'.
There have been variations of this spray over the years, this particular design is now the signature spray of Jack Robinson, a professional surfer from Australia.
As an attempt to ward off the winter blues born from the diminishing daylight hours, I have taken to going out in the morning on my bike. Just a quick peddle around town, or the beach, or the harbour, each morning without any particular direction.
